From Work to A Craftsman Mindset

Work puts a roof over our head, and creativity lifts it.
Why do we work? What is the point of my job, if it doesn't bring me any fulfillment? These are two questions I think we all can honestly say that we ask ourselves every day. The thing is, I don't think any of us actually know why we work. We certainly can gather that our work we do, regardless of what our job might be, is a means to an end. It is a way to provide for ourselves and our families, to keep a roof over our heads and food in our bellies. That is just a taste of what work can do. Yet for many of us, we are still unsatisfied. Why is that the case?
Perhaps we lack the motivation to do more with our lives through discovering what we are truly capable of. Yes, we may work a job in order to pay the bills, but is it truly what we hoped for in this life. Are we fine with pushing emails for a boss that barely knows our name? Are we ok with maneuvering a hefty schedule of appliance care for customers that treat us like we should be Superman? Are we empty because our work lacks that creative edge? We may enjoy what we do, but we also get burned out, dealing with the mundane and the monotonous. Wouldn't it be better to be that appliance guy and actually build something, rather than maintaining a schedule of short repairs for ungrateful customers? If you are that builder, would it be better to craft a masterpiece of a home for some, rather than just constructing a house atop another house in a development that's just going to be a zoning wasteland in 10 years? Wouldn't it be best to be able to use our creative minds to benefit society instead of "just working to pay bills"?
I think so.
I know you think so, too.
When you read a quote like "work puts a roof over our head, and creativity lifts it". What comes to mind? What do you envision for yourself? What creative thoughts do you have stored up in the back of your brain? How are you going to take charge of your life and make what seems to be simple and routine, and turn it into a masterpiece like Leonardo Da Vinci or Raphael?
Be the creator you are meant to be.
Be who God created you to be.
